Consolidated Boring, Inc. Subsidiary Faxon Machining Awarded $473 Million Long-Term Contract for BLU-136 Bomb Cases

Consolidated Boring, Inc. announces that its subsidiary, Faxon Machining, LLC, has been awarded a long-term contract valued at approximately $473 million for the production of BLU-136/B 2,000-pound high-fragmenting bomb bodies and CNU-417/E containers in support of U.S. Air Force requirements and potential Foreign Military Sales (FMS).

The contract was awarded by the Army Contracting Command and extends through January 27, 2031.

Under the initial IDIQ I contract, Faxon served as the preferred provider for BLU-136/B production for a five-year period, consistently meeting delivery, quality, and performance requirements. Based on that sustained performance and program familiarity, the follow-on IDIQ II contract has been awarded to Faxon on a sole-source basis.

CBI views the award as recognition of Faxon’s manufacturing posture, one centered on scalability, throughput, and execution at volume. Faxon has operated as a production-focused organization, maintaining delivery performance and quality while expanding capacity to meet sustained program requirements.

Faxon Machining specializes in the precision machining and manufacture of complex metal components for defense applications, including bomb bodies, warhead cases, and missile components. All work under the contract will be performed within the United States.
